Ocean Life Insurance As a life insurance company with 69-year experiences in offering complete line of insurance services, Ocean Life Insurance has been operating under good governance policy and treasured all lessons learnt as the way towards brighter future.
Founded by Chin Assakul, the company heralded on 11 January 1949 under the name “The Ocean Insurance Company Limited”.
Adding up to the non-life insurance service, the company received the license in life insurance services.
The company had encountered with severe crisis. Mr.Kris Assakul stepped in, using his expertise and utmost dedication to resolve the complication until the company survived. He was praised the “Father of Ocean Insurance” ever since.
The Ocean Insurance expanded further to industrial life insurance service targeting at individuals. The service responded to consumers’ demand and brought the company successive growth.
The Ocean Insurance expanded with 23 branches nationwide along with the establishment of “Ocean Life Insurance Training Center” at Pak Chong, NakhonRatchasima. The training centre has produced highly competent agents to serve insurance market until today.
For the business to comply with the Life Insurance Act B.E. 1992, the company separated non-life insurance and life insurance and changed the company’s name to “Ocean Life Insurance Company Limited”.
The company signed the business agreement with The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company Limited, Japan’s leading life insurance company, aiming to move forward together for mutual success.
The company’s60thAnniversary came with the modernisation of company image that reflects the readiness to serve customers from all paths of life.
Nusara (Assakul) Banyatpiyaphod was announced the president of the company with her wisdom, capabilitiy and all-round experiences. Her top priority is vested in good governance, proven with her winning of the TCC Best Award 2010 from the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
From time to time, the company has continued to reflect the excellence of management and agent’s quality through the winning of several awards, such as Award for the Insurance Company with Outstanding Management 2010 and Award for Quality Agent 2010 from the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC).
The enforcement of Life Insurance Act requires life insurance companies to privatise and become public companies. Respectively, Ocean Life Insurance Company underwent the privatisation and was transformed to Ocean Life Insurance Public Company Limited on 10 July 2012.
Winning Honourable Awards for 2 Consecutive Years. Ocean Life Insurance was awarded with the Outstanding Management Award 2011(Honourable Mention) and the Award for Quality Agent 2011from the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) for 2 years in a row.
