Ocean Life Insurance As a life insurance company with 68-year experiences in offering complete line of insurance services, Ocean Life Insurance has been operating under good governance policy and treasured all lessons learnt as the way towards brighter future.

 

1949

The Beginning of “Ocean Life Insurance”

Founded by Chin Assakul, the company heralded on 11 January 1949 under the name “The Ocean Insurance Company Limited”.

 

1951

Stepping Further to Life Insurance Services

Adding up to the non-life insurance service, the company received the license in life insurance services.

 

1953

The First Challenge of “The Ocean Insurance”

The company had encountered with severe crisis. Mr.Kris Assakul stepped in, using his expertise and utmost dedication to resolve the complication until the company survived. He was praised the “Father of Ocean Insurance” ever since.

 

1954

Key Turning Point

The Ocean Insurance expanded further to industrial life insurance service targeting at individuals. The service responded to consumers’ demand and brought the company successive growth.

 

1961

Regional Expansion and Investment in Agent’s Skill Training

The Ocean Insurance expanded with 23 branches nationwide along with the establishment of “Ocean Life Insurance Training Center” at Pak Chong, NakhonRatchasima. The training centre has produced highly competent agents to serve insurance market until today.

 

2000

The Herald of “Ocean Life Insurance”

For the business to comply with the Life Insurance Act B.E. 1992, the company separated non-life insurance and life insurance and changed the company’s name to “Ocean Life Insurance Company Limited”.

 

2008

Joining Forces for Unity

The company signed the business agreement with The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company Limited, Japan’s leading life insurance company, aiming to move forward together for mutual success.

 

2009

60 Years of “Ocean Life Insurance”, Celebrating with Revamp Campaign and New Philosophy “Life Partner... and Beyond”

The company’s60thAnniversary came with the modernisation of company image that reflects the readiness to serve customers from all paths of life.

 

2010

Fly Higher with First-class Management with Priority in Total Transparency

Nusara (Assakul) Banyatpiyaphod was announced the president of the company with her wisdom, capabilitiy and all-round experiences. Her top priority is vested in good governance, proven with her winning of the TCC Best Award 2010 from the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

 

2011

Achievements and Pride

From time to time, the company has continued to reflect the excellence of management and agent’s quality through the winning of several awards, such as Award for the Insurance Company with Outstanding Management 2010 and Award for Quality Agent 2010 from the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC).

 

2012

Privatisation as “Ocean Life Insurance Public Company Limited” for Sustainable Growth

The enforcement of Life Insurance Act requires life insurance companies to privatise and become public companies. Respectively, Ocean Life Insurance Company underwent the privatisation and was transformed to Ocean Life Insurance Public Company Limited on 10 July 2012.

Winning Honourable Awards for 2 Consecutive Years. Ocean Life Insurance was awarded with the Outstanding Management Award 2011(Honourable Mention) and the Award for Quality Agent 2011from the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) for 2 years in a row.

 

2013

Betterment Towards Brigther Future... Cooperate for Unity

The Prosperity of Synergy was held to celebrate the 5th anniversary of collaboration between Ocean LifeInsurance Public Company Limited and The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company Limited for the rapport has brought successive prosperity for both parties through the years. Winning of the Outstanding Development Award 2012, Ocean Life Insurance was awarded in the Prime Minister’s Insurance Awards 2012 from the nomination of the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC).

Nusara (Assakul) Banyatpiyaphod, on behalf of the president, received the Outstanding Entrepreneurship Awards from the Enterprise Asia. The award is one of Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards which honour business leaders with distinguished performance and dedication towards successfulbusinesses within Asia Pacific region.

 

2014

65 years of obligation to excellent service with commitment in creating sustainability to Thai community nationwide

The company won the “Consumer Protection Thailand Call Center Award 2014” from theOffice of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) and the Management System Certification Institute (Thailand).

The company is moving forward to escalate the capabilities of Thai people, side by side with the encouragement of income generation for 88 communities nationwide through the “Ocean Life Insurance for Thai Community”project.

 

2015

Persistently stand firm to protect customers’ interest and adhere to enhance personnel’s capabilities
Won the outstanding establishment award for the development of labour skill for two years in a row from the Ministry of Labour Won the Consumer Protection Thailand Call Center Award 2015 for two years in a row from the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) and Management System Certification Institute (Thailand) or MASCI

 

2016

Move Forward Using Love as Positive Energy to Achieve Distinction in Life Insurance Business

The Company won the 3rd place in the 2016 Life Insurance Company with Outstanding Management Award
in the Prime Minister’s Insurance Awards 2016 from the selection of the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC).
OCEAN LIFE President was selected by the Executive Board of The Thai Life Assurance Association (TLAA)
to chair the 14th “President of TLAA”.
Won the Outstanding Business Women Award of the East from the Business and Professional Women’s
Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage (BPW.)
Won the outstanding establishment award for the development of labour skill for three years in a row from the
Ministry of Labour
